Policies and Procedures

Collie Cuts All Breed Dog Grooming Salon has a goal to provide the safest, most enjoyable grooming experience for you and your pets. We strive to maintain a clean grooming salon and provide the highest standards possible with our grooming and the products we use. Below are some policies we have developed to ensure the safety and happiness of your pets while in our care.

ENTERING AND EXITING THE SALON, DROP OFF, PICK UP, AND PARKING

We ask that you please have all dogs on a leash when entering and exiting the salon. This is to ensure the safety of your pet and others.

Please drop your dog off on time for their appointment or you are welcome as early as you like.

Please collect your dog as soon as you can once I have notified you, they are ready.

BATHING REQUIREMENTS

All pets are required to be bathed as part of the grooming process. This is not only for the benefit of your pet, but also to not damage the groomer’s equipment.

We use a variety of shampoos suitable for your dog’s needs.

Clients are also welcome to provide any vet-prescribed medicated shampoos as needed. All our shampoos are of the highest quality and safe for dogs.

EAR CARE AND EAR HAIR REMOVAL

All pets will have their ears cleaned.  If your pet has an ear infection, we will let you know so you may consult your veterinarian. Ear hair will be removed upon discussion.

TOENAIL TRIMMING

All nails will be trimmed and during each grooming appointment. We always do our best to trim the nails as short as possible, without hurting your pet. Should your pet show any signs of aggression during the nail trimming process, we will muzzle your pet for the safety of the groomer and the pet during the nail trimming only. We do not like to use muzzles and will try everything possible to avoid muzzling your pet. If your pet is showing signs of stress or aggression, we may not be able to trim the nails.

APPOINTMENT ARRIVAL TIMES

Please attempt to arrive promptly for your appointment. Late arrival to appointments will affect the entire Collie Cuts schedule, this is why we book your pet at a specific time. If you are going to be late, please notify us as soon as possible. Please do us the courtesy of calling to confirm you are on your way.

A late fee of $1 will be added for every min over 5 min ,once reached 10 min a $10 will be applied then $1 per min over that.  Once at 20 minutes we will cancel the appointment at our discretion. If your pet is late you should also expect that it may take longer to finish than usual, as the groomer cannot allow other grooms to be late to accommodate for time requests. We may even not have time to do the grooming service you have chosen and will talk with you about alternative options.

GROOMING PROCESS

There are several things to keep in mind when your dog is being groomed. Pets are washed before the groom. A clean pet is easier to groom than a dirty one.

Some pets may or may not like being brushed, and if they have matts, it can be a time-consuming process. Removal of matts may cause your dog undue stress and possible injury.  Collie Cuts reserves the right to deal with the coat humanely to keep your dog comfortable.

We will always offer options to deal with matting and discuss this with you.

Sometimes it is best just to start over and put your pet on a good maintenance program. The groomer can speak with you after the groom to give you advice on how often you should bring them in, brushes, and other things to help maintain your pet’s coat.

CANCELLATION POLICY- NO-SHOW POLICY

Please contact us 24 hours in advance of the appointment to make a cancellation.  Collie Cuts reserves the right to retain 50% of the grooming cost for cancellations made less that 24 hours prior to the appointment.

Collie Cuts reserves the right to retain 100% of the grooming fee if you do not show up for an appointment without contacting us in advance.

SATISFACTION

We will always work to give your pet the cut that you want, however, keep in mind that your pet's comfort and health are always our number one priority. We cannot send a dog home in an unhealthy state. We will always keep notes on what you specifically like for your groom.

If you are unsatisfied with the groom, please let us know before you leave the shop so that we can make any necessary corrections and we can take notes for the next groom. If changes are requested more than 24hrs after the grooming appointment, there may be an additional charge.

INJURIES

There is always the possibility of cuts, nicks or heat rash during the grooming process. Some pets are harder to handle than others and accidents can occur. There are also times when matt burns show after they are shaved out. This is not caused by the groomer being careless, but by the severity of the matts.

Should any injuries occur during the grooming process, we will notify you and advise you on how to treat these. Injuries occurring during the grooming process are not the responsibility of Collie Cuts and any vet costs are at the expense of the client.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please advise us of any medical or behavioural issues that you are aware of or have arisen since your last appointment.

RIGHT OF REFUSAL

Collie Cuts reserves the right to refuse service and insist a client leave the premises should they in any way, shape or form wrongly speak to or present in a threatening manner to the staff or other clients of Collie Cuts.
